Heeeey. Here are some pics I drew yesterday cause I'm a weirdo that wanted to celebrate my boyfriend's food poisoning. So here ya go:
Sexy.
Um, yeah, I made like a whole sticker set of them, so now we can hopefully sticker them in not so obvious places around Liverpool. Theres one in Korova and at Paradise Street Station at the moment! So the imaginary people in my mind who read this blog should totally go on the hunt and find them! And then be proud. Woo!
But now I REALLY want a badge maker set, cause how cool would it be to wear as badges? But they seemed to have disappeared off the face of the earth. I think they only bring them out around crimbo because marketing people are clever.
And heres the original sketches:
But yes. Thats what I've been doing with my time! Well I've been trying to spruce up my CV, which reminds me I need to work on the BORING CV, which I'll give to regular office job people, for when I'll inevitabley be forced to apply for such jobs...well not FORCED...but hey man, ya gotta make money man. And that means applying for ANY job, even if it ain't animation.
Woo! Anyhow.
I finally sent off my film to Fantoche type thing yesterday (with a helping hand from my mother), but I'm not sure if it'll get there on time. Being far away in Switzerland. But we can hope. And then if I get through I can be all WHHHHEEEEEE SWITZEEEERRRLAAAAAAND and such. Which would be nice. But we shall see! I should really get on with these other competitions I've heard of.
But I decided to tidy my room. Which I'm now bored of, but I hate spreading it out over several days. Boooooooooo. Oh well. I'll go make fajitas and perhaps I'll have more energy for super cleaning.
And finally.... LOOK AT MY KNEE. LIKE OHMYGOD I HURT MYSELF LIKE A LITTLE KID!!!
Now lets all listen to Adam & Joe.

Still on Switzerland
Wow. I'm surprised I've been getting my bum into gear over this Fantoche competition. But yes. Spent last night making a little DVD menu (which didn't take half as long as I thought; and by the way, why is iDVD so dang confusing? Its so irritating to use!), and I'm quite proud of my little looped menu (except for the big old APPLE LOGO in the corner, just breathing all over my work, dagnab).
Anyhoo, all I gotta do now is,
- Put together DVD case
- Get a nice envelope
- Put objects in envelope
- And post it
Huzzah! And it'll be super fun happy times for all.
And then I shall be looking into the other competitions, and trying to think of some ideas for making my CV look pretty and such. I would rather send prospective employers a photo of my face with the words 'PLEASE HIRE ME' scrawled across my face in red crayon. It would be different. But possibly not in a good way.
Anyway, I do apologize if I'm repeating myself, but here is a slightly different version of Love by Numbers, as I've changed the music to some good old royalty free music so I don't get sued and given credits to the Guardian article from which I based the entire animation. You can find the article HERE HERE HERE (Also, so I don't get sued)
And was I going to say anything else? Um, yes. The Graphic Arts website is now opppppeeeeeeen, so you can go look at pure amazingness ---------->CROWD<----------
Wheee!
Now I be off to conquer more land and marry more princesses
(Cause I'm a stud)

Competitions
I got informed of an animation competition todaaay. But it has to be delivered to Switzerland by next Sunday. Woahzer.
Plus, I was reading the regulations and stuff, and it didn't say "nuffin' about asking for permission for music and such...so I don't think it matters about asking Mr Michael Andrews g=for his permission for this particular competition. But I'm not sure whether I should just play it safe and find some royalty free music to put on instead....just in case I get into trouble.
PLUS. It also says that you need to write 'For cultural purposes only. No commercial value' on something. But I don't know whether it meant physically ON the DVD, or on the packaging...or on the envelope or do I need to proclaim it in the actual animation>??? I don't think I need to do that one....perhaps it just means on the packaging and DVD? We think so. Which only requires some minor tweaking. Yeah.
PLUUUUUS PLUS its asking about projection formats and I have NO CLUE as to what that even means....I just put Digital Beta PAL or something...whatever that means. Oh the confusion. I CAN'T STAND THE CONFUSION IN MY MIIIIIIIND!
But on a lighter/exciting/ohmagodI'mkindanervous note, our degree show is tomorrow baby! Wow! It seems hard to believe-o.
I took some pics of people preparing and such...
Yeah. I would of rotated some of them. But that would have required effort plus it gives the neck good exercise! Its kinda cool to just go in and sort of soak up the sort of atmosphere. Yeah. So yes. Tomorrow. Woo. We shall see what happens.

Song stuck in my head
I've got bloomin' Rihanna's 'Take a Bow' stuck in my head, I wouldn't mind but I woke up with it in my head. Oh well. Lily Allen's 'Its Not Fair' sometimes comes inbetween, so yeah, that song is strangely addictive, the music just sounds sounds so happy and boppy I suppose...I'm turning into someone who likes trendy music....I'm scared!
Well, nothing much did I do today. Sorted out something to do with the webpage of the degree show just now. But before that I was playing on 'Little King's Story', cause I was totally weak today and bought a *gasp* VIDEO GAME. Yeah. But I had read about it before, so I was all like "New Release? For once I shall be on the ball!" and therefore it was bought.
Strangely addictive. I suppose its a mix of Harvest Moon and Sim City and all those other games that I never played, about conquering kingdoms and the like. I just like making all my little Grunt Knights run off and fight things! Aww, and its so cute when people in the royal guard fall in love with each other; but it would seem that only the people only fall in love with one girl in my group, which is slightly promiscuous of her...but hey man, I'm KING, I have much more pressing matters on my hands. Man, I love the power. (It was like last week I totally eventually bought Castle Fairfax in Fable II and became MAYOR...which was cool. But then I got bored. And that was the end of Claire's stint with Fable. Oh how I loves/loved it.)
So yes, thats what I've been doing today.

Taxi
Handed my work in, handed my work in, hip hip hooray! I keep expecting to find some sketchbook at home that I forgot to hand in! Uh-oh!
Anyway, whilst I was bored last night, I found this rather amazing animation on the old YouTube, that I thought was worth sharing:
I love these sort of animations that look at first crushes or general experiences/ thought processes of people. Sort of similar to Jonas Odell's animation about the first time people had sex - 'Never like the first time', which can be found on Odell's website
HERE.
Ya see, I think my Process of Saying Something Stupid project was similar in the sort of topic I was exploring buuuut just not executed in the correct way. I really wish I'd made an animation of it...and I may do still actually. I like the pics that I made in Illustrator but I'm not sure if I'd want to draw it all out and do really simple hand drawn animations...all rough and wobbly like in the first crushes animation..would be quite nice. Hey, if I get the energy or time I may just try it, until then it shall lie forgotten on my shelf.
How miserable it has gone today. And its supposed to be May!

Ho hum ho hum ho hum
Those be just a few screen shots of the CD cases I made, not very good photos I'm afraid. It made a change to be physically constructing something rather than working on the computer. I think I want to try and find a different CD template to work from eventually, maybe something abit simpler...but try and find those plastic thangs that you can put CDs in to put in it....perhaps....
My work is all packed and prepared to be carried to uni tomorrow. I feel oddly bored. I've got nothing much to do now. I tried playing Fable but I got bored of that after a couple of hours...all I want to do is buy Castle Fairfax...incase theres some super cool extra quest at the end of the game....but I doubt it. Oh well.
So yes. Feeling bored. Maybe I'll feel better after I've handed the work in and have learnt about what we have to do for the degree show tomorrow...
Really need to get my PS2 working again...or get some books out or something; its weird realising how much uni work just swallowed up life and that I can't really think of anything else to do with my time. I suppose I like doing something practical and useful and now I just don't have anything! Oh WOETH ME!!!
Anyhoo, yes. HUZZAH! Finished my work on time after much stressing!
Friday, May 1
Well...
Wowzer. I haven't been on here in a while-e-o. Well, I've been plodding along, stressing out along the way. Which is all healthy and good I'm sure.
I've pretty much completed my Love by Numbers animation, just a few things to sort out with voices and the music in the background (I think I just need to lower the volume of the speaking parts as they may be a wee bit loud). But, here are some screen shots:
I actually can't remember if I've put any of these up before, so you'll have to bear (is that even RIGHT? That word doesn't LOOK right, I think perhaps I may be an idiot) with me if I'm repeating myself; as my brain seems to have gotten a bit mushy of late.
I'm hoping to upload the animation after the deadline and such, AND also update the look of this blog and such, cause I'll have some nice ploddy time to do these sort of things.
I've had a bit of a break tonight as I could sense my brain going into overdrive (just like in Final Fantasy X....I wonder what my brains Overdrive would be? Man, I miss my PS2...); and yes it was quite nice to r e l a x and drink fermented vegetable drinks. Huzzahs.
Well that is pretty much it. I may take some photos of the CD covers I'm making for my work cause I know how ecstatically exciting that would be for others to look at. But for now....I leave you with this....
