A bit of experimental illustration

A few months ago I was asked to come up with an illustration concept for a small booklet.
The client wanted to see quite a simple hand drawn sort of style.



I then decided to have a bit of fun and do this one too:



I saw this guy's work and decided I wanted a go at using that lovely colour palette. (Don't worry, this was just for fun and the client didn't see this illustration!) I really like Shen Akindo's work, so nice and slick!
I also enjoyed employing a bit of a gradient to elements of my picture. Its fun to experiment! Woo!
