Dusty Windowsill

Hello hello! Yes, long time no see my imaginary readers!
Since getting my new job, my free time appears to have diminished rather a lot (who would have thunk it!). But I'm really enjoying it (even though its really rather crazily busy at the moment!), I'm getting to practice my skills everyday, and I'm even able to draw quite a lot! I would even say that I'm drawing more now than I did before this job, which is cool!
Anyways, I would love to chat about what I'm actually working on…but I'm unsure as to whether I'm allowed to as of yet, and Claire don't want to get into to trouble!
Although I have done a couple of small projects in the last few months, so lets take a look:

Christmas in Antarctica by ~Naffynaff on deviantART

I made this (very early) Christmas card for my friend Emily, who (believe it or not) has gone off to Antarctica for 3 months to drill ice cores! She is one hardcore missy! I hope she enjoys it there, and this card portrayed her dining with the King and Queen of Penguins, which I'm pretty sure she'll discover whilst shes over there! Its another watercolour picture (as per usual), hopefully one day I'll have time to hone my skills and make my watercolours look much more professional. But until then I shall just have to be content with the homely feel of my watercolours!

Birthday Card by ~Naffynaff on deviantART

Next is a sort of birthday poster/card for a friend in work (it was her niece's birthday). This was hand drawn, scanned in and then "coloured in" using textures and such in Photoshop. I've really enjoyed experimenting in this style, and I'm hoping to use it a lot more in future projects! Also, I got to draw Pikachu, which is just plain awesome anyways! Pokemon is AWESOME. (Only the original 150 though, none of these new fangled claptraps!)

Crazy Faces by ~Naffynaff on deviantART

About a month ago I made a set of stickers for my boyfriend (as he said he would like some after he saw the ones I made for my business many a month ago!). I decided to go for different facial expressions in my usual flash stylee. I feel I was in a bit of a rush to do these so I think they could have come out better, but my boyfriend seemed pretty happy with them, so all is well! I used a really cool website called Moo.com to get them printed. They're a really awesome and affordable website for printing stickers or business cards, so I fully recommend them to anybody!

3 Years by ~Naffynaff on deviantART

And finally, a little anniversary card I made for my boyfriend. This was very much an experiment in using Illustrator and a small step in developing a vector style for myself. I really like Illustrator and just how professional it can make your illustrations look!

Phew, thats a lot of pictures. But thats pretty much what I've been up to in between work and sleep. I've also cut down the rest of the Christmas cards I had printed (LAST YEAR…eep) and instead of stamping them I ordered some festive 'Merry Christmas' stickers to put in them. (I learnt my lesson of asking for the cards to be printed on satin, as it doesn't hold stamping ink very well.)
I've also been replaying Kingdom Hearts because I'm a big kid. The older I get the weirder I think it is that Haley Joel Osmond did the voice of Sora. But yes, not sure why I enjoy the game so much, I just wish Kingdom Hearts 2 could have matched it (or preferably surpassed it), but oh well! I may give Kingdom Hearts 2 a go after this one….or Final Fantasy VII…I'm not sure…
TV I've been watching is mainly Adventure Time, because it is AWESOME (lots of awesomes in this post!) Lumpy Space Princess is my favourite, and I've been told (by my sister) that I do a mean impression of her, which I'm not sure whether to take as an insult or a compliment!

But yeah, I really like her and I want to make a cushion of her.
I went to go see an exhibition at the FACT in Liverpool called ZEE, and it was freak-ay. Worth going to see, but I would have to say its the most uncomfortable I've ever felt at an art exhibition, woo and mama!
Books I've been reading are Daphne Du Maurier's 'Rebecca', which was really good and I'm now re-reading Robin Hobb's 'The Ship of Magic'. Man oh man, it was the first Robin Hobb I read, and its still awesome on the second read! I would love to see or try to do my own illustrations for her books, just because they are so cool. I feel like my style is too childish for these books, but I suppose you never know until you try, so I may give it a go when I've got some free time!

And that is my waffle-age to cover the last few months! I hope all of you imaginary readers are well, and I shall try and speak to you all soon! Bye, love you Bye! (Also went to go see Adam Buxton at the FACT too! Dude! I could have wet my pants in excitement!)
