So far

So far, over Christmas I have watched:
> Many crimbo episodes of the Vicar of Dibley
> Inkheart (which was disappointing)
> Stardust (which kicked ass because all the prince ghosts were actors I sort of love. ADAM BUXTON)
> Angus, Thongs & Perfect Snogging (which I guiltily watched yesterday, I'm sorry.)
>The Holiday (I wuvs Jack Black)
> High Fidelity (cause it is a super coolio film)
> Fred Claus (which pleasantly surprised me)
> Yes Man (which also pleasantly surprised me)
AND >Wallace & Gromit in the Curse of the Were Rabbit

I love Sky Movies....

And now gearing up for New Year and supposedly making myself a more organised and adventurous person. Yeeeaaaah.

Tuesday, December 22

Heeeeeeey Bippo!

Just thought it was interesting...

(Crimbo is a coming and Lady Green got their claws into me, and now the next few days I be making mince pies and making the rounds, presents-wise you see...so hopefully I'm gonna have a bit of chill out between the crimbo and new year period and then Claire McFlibble will return kicking and screaming as ever! Yay! Hope all the imaginary people in my head have a very merry christmas and a happy new year! :D)

Sunday, December 6

You know I like it when they walk

Watching Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. I gotta say, its odd seeing Robert Pattinson before the hair...

Anyway. Heres the sketches of the xmas cards that I still haven't got round to drawing up yet even though its December. Yeah. I really need to do these...

I'm planning to do them in the style of my Little Red Riding Hood animation from a couple of years ago...Little Red Riding Hood

So yes. Oh my gosh, that scene were they go to the ball and Hermione and Ron have that tiff....*wipes tear from eye* So cute!

And yes. Other than that, um, I've been carrying on with my radio course and its the last week this week and I'm a bit nervous about a 15 minute show that we have to do on Tuesday, even though I'll be in the background putting in the jingles and stuff, but never the less, its scary! Eeep! I shall be glad whenst its over.

And heres something my bro showed me t'other day, that was COOL:

And also, just a song that I've come to adore as well (thanks to my friend Nikki for putting it on a mix CD for me, and yes, I know the song has been round for 2 billion years, but hey, I get round to things when I'm ready!)

(And yes I know the synching is rather bad, but you get the sexy vibeyness of it anyway! Woo!)

Hot stuff

I surface once again.

Well veeery recently I made a little iron on transfer for an apron for my boyfriend because he is becoming the next gordon ramsay or jamie oliver or something!

Preview party pictures

Yay! I uploaded all the photos from the Penguin Preview Party, so you can check them out here (as well as all the work in progress photos)

PENGUIN PHOTOS PENGUIN PHOTOS PENGUIN PHOTOS

I'm going to go out soon and get a photo of Happy Hands down at the Albert Dock, so I'll add to the bunch soon. And then I'll add it to the old portfolio websiteo.

That is all.

Penguin Preview Party

The Penguin Preview Party was Friday just gone, and theres me there (somewhere amongst the bunch!) with my good old penguin Clive, aka Happy Hands (which is a much snazzier name). It was much fun and probably the poshest party I'd ever been to. All the penguins looked amazing in their finery, and I took some photos of ones that I really liked.
And try to spot my friend Jen with her penguin 'Peng-a-tron', which is going to be in St Georges Hall!

I took quite a lot of photos. I'm hopefully going to get them onto the main world wide weberverse soon. But yes! Thats it! Complete.
If anyone would like to see pics of allllll the penguins, they can look here GO PENGUINS ART GALLERY

sO THAR you go! Heres a video to round it all off...

Sunday, November 8

That smoking offends me

Second coat of varnish has been applied to Clive (I'm so perturbed cause so much dust has got caught up in the varnish so it looks all dirty! Not amused by that, but pretty much unpreventable.) Only one more coat to go!

(Also finished my Bone Doll book type thang, and shall be hunting the 2nd one down soon! Either that, or reading the "sequel" to Bram Stoker's Dracula that my bro has lent me...hmmmm...I am very doubtful of it, so doubtful in fact, that I think I can hear it whimpering on my shelf from the amount of judgement I have for it.)

Let Boggins Live!

Saturday, November 7

I need a wee!

Wellity wellity wellity.
Its been a busy few weeks. But the penguin is nearly completed. It now only needs 2 coats more of varnish and its DONE! Yay! His name is Happy Hands, but I sort of prefer to call him Clive. Anyhoos, here he is in all his glorio....

If you want to see all of ze Penguin progress photos, you can see them HEEEEERRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEE WOOOOOOOO!!!!
But yes. Completing the penguin and going to the radio course is (once again) what has kept me busay. Hopefully I'll finish Clive by Monday, and then I'll be able to get on designing Christmas cards for Crimbo time!

Went to see The Fantastic Mr Fox and Up in the week gone by. You can totally tell Wes Anderson directed Mr Fox, but its kind of sweet for it, its surprising how strange the film is...but I liked it! I preferred it to Up, which was also good, it was very sad (I thought in places) but hmmm...yeah, it was good, just preferred Mr Fox.
I also saw my hero of all time EDDIE IZZARD last Saturday (on Halloween! Ooooh!) and it was amazing! I was only like...24 rows from the front...which I think is quite impressive, obviously not the MOST impressive, but still, a good attempt! Yay! I be having photos of him in my photo album thing on the right thar. Yay!

But yes. Thats all I've been up to really. And now I tire. And I must rest. I think I may be sound asleep by 9 o' clock (on a Saturday night, I know! Its crazy!)

Go Penguins! Part 1

Yes. Well. I haven't been on here much recently, but its due to being busy with other such things (its great to actually be DOING something!) But yes, the one big thing that has been on my mind for the past couple of weeks is painting a giant penguin for the Go Penguins campaign (Not really sure its a campaign...)! But yes, Liverpool last year had a lot of Superlambananas popping up all over the place, and this year we're going to be seeing penguins! You can have a looksie at the official website HERE and HERE and ALL OVER HERE!!

So I sent some designs in a whileo ago, and unfortunately they didn't get picked by any sponsor sort of people (which was a bit poo, but oh well!) BUT my friend Miss Jen's design got picked, and she recommended me to paint a penguin for charity (For she didn't have time to do it, plus she is a very good friend and her word it would seem is very highly thought of in the whole of Liverpool!! :D). So this penguin is for the charity Claire House,

which provides support to terminally ill children. One of the children made a penguin design for one of the sculptures and I have been given the job of putting it on a penguin!

So yes! This is the child's picture that they made using a mix of newspaper, finger paints and wool.

And Katie (like head co-ordinator of the Go Penguins project) an I discussed how to transfer this onto a penguin using only paint (as its going outdoors, so any other material would result in the penguin falling apart in colder climates), we decided we could use the children's hand prints rather than finger prints and so I came up with a few designs using Flash...

Me and Katie thought of using the colours used on Claire House's website to introduce a bit more colour into the sculpture, plus rainbow colours always make me think of those sets of felt tip pens you get when you're a kid and how amazing and bright they look! And then I tried a few different ideas...

This design was keeping with the original painting, I put all the hand prints facing downwards to try and mimic the feathers of the bird.

This was a slight variation on the previous one, trying to extend the white-ness of the tummy and bring a bit more colour into it!

And this was taking the main colour that is used for Claire House (a light blue and light yellow) and mixing them together...

And his design is the one that the people of Claire House decided on...

Which I have to say is my favourite! I love anything that is multi-coloured! I remember when I first started art in high school I would just fill the background of any picture with lines of rainbow colour so it really stood out, I felt if I did that it guaranteed me an A9 baby (we had a strange marking system, A10 was the best you could get! You usually got an illustrious merit with that too. Wow. High school life was strange...and yet a simpler time.) So yes, its a penguin covered in multi-coloured hand prints, which is going to take a very very long time to complete but I'm hoping it'll look REALLY COOL when its done!

I've got some photos of the penguin in progress in the little side box thing right there if anyone wishes to take a gander. Its quite nice to be painting again, alongside such a mix of people. You just get to chat or listen to the radio or music and paint. But my knees are hurting from the hard floor, so I'm going to bring a pillow in with me tomo!

So thats whats really been happening in my life recently. I've also been accepted on a radio course (which I thought I'd totally botched the interview for, but apparently not!) and its kind of interesting and terrifying at the same time! I've been for another interview at a school which I spectacularly failed in procuring the job due to specialising in Animation. Which I wouldn't mind, but it cost me a taxi to get there and then we had to do a test (design a leaflet in 10 minutes) and then the head mistress there made it REALLY OBVIOUS that I didn't get the job. I mean, if my application had been read properly, then people would have read Graphic Arts (Animation)...yeah, I probably should have mentioned that more in the form. Oh well! It was a very swanky school, and instead of like break bells, they'd play music instead! Which I thought was cool. And I got a free carton of orange juice. Score.

Umm. And not much else going on apart from that. Have done some very drafty drafts of Crimbo cards I may be making for people this year. Have read Mary Shelley's 'Frankenstein', which was oooooookay, but nothing amazing. I wouldn't read it again. And now I've started on Lynn Flewlling's 'The Bone Doll's Twin' which I'm rather enjoying but thats because I'm a big fantasy story nerd and Robin Hobb also liked it and I sort of idolize Robin Hobb.
Have also been attempting to get into manga again (after watching Paprika) and have bought a couple more Nana novels. Which I've enjoyed. Although I know the series goes on for ages so I may get bored before then.
I made some peanut butter and chocolate truffle cookies last Tuesday...they were good...especially when they'd just come out of the oven.

AND THATS ALL I'VE DONE (apart from showering and watching How I Met Your Mother and The Gilmore Girls and eating.)

YOUTUBE VIDEO!!!1!

Sunday, October 4

I'm sorry...

....but this piece of music is currently addictive for me, as in, I well and truly CAN'T STOP LISTENING TO IT, so I thought I'd try and spread the evil, I suppose (well, its not really evil....but I can tell I'll think it is whe I wake up tomorrow with it in my heado)

If it can't be guessed, its off the film Paprika, and heres a picture of robot Tokita for good measure

Cause he be adorable as robot!
Go see this anime! Dagnabbit!

Filmio

This weekend seems to have consisted of Cover Letter writing and film watching....and eating. Man, I need to get me a more exciting life. Oh wello.
I went to see The Invention of Lying on Frido with Andrew, and was not amused. I mean. BLERGH. It was bad. Oh so bad. Usually I warm to a film after a day or so, but no. This was just awful. Ricky Gervais just shouldn't ever be given a serious role in a film...because its just foolishness. Just the whole stupid religious thing thrown in with it as well was pretty much insulting to everybody's intellgence...it was so obvious and predictable it made me well, just drained. So drained in fact that I can't continue moaning about it.

Anyway, then on Saturday I watched my lovely taped Gilmore Girls, because I'm starting to enjoy it, which scares me, but I may as well go with it as theres nothing else on at 10 in the morning. Anyhoo, later on I watched this anime that I bought ages ago for a fiver called Paprika. Which turned out to be quite okay, and was as freakish as I expected it to be (I haven't watched anime in a while you see, I wasn't sure if I'd just be taken over by a tidal wave of FREAKISHNESS), but it was good. I liked Tokita, despite the fact that he kinda made me feel ill when he was eating and they did a back view of him and you could see all that neck fat protruding out there...but apart from that, he was AOKAY!

Theeeen, I watched Highlander, due to us having taped it and my mother saying she really liked it.
It was alright. Not as good as I was expecting. It made me laugh more than anything else. The licking of a priests hand sort of shocked me more than I thought I would of been shocked by such an act. Sean Connery was good! Although I'm not sure if I was not just entranced by his amazing outfit. But yeah, it was okay. I find that if I keep looking to see when a film is going to end, then I'm not really enjoying it a whole lot. So yeah.

And so today I finally watched Juno, and I thought I would be overwhelmed by the home made INDIE-ness of it all, but no, it was tolerable and I enjoyed it. I still like Michael Cera, despite me suspecting hes a big headed gimp. And Jason Bateman's character made me sad, but I'm happy that hes popping up in more films now! Yay for Bateman! And the lead girl character person...if I'd met her in real life, I think I'd want to punch her...if she wasn't pregnant. So maybe flick her ear several hundred times or something. But yeah, I'd say Paprika/Juno were the favourite films of the weekend! Huzzah! And thats the end of Claire's uneventful 2 day thing that people do every week. I'm tired. And I can't get Paprika music out of my head.

Avatar

Say whaaaaaat? They're making a live action movie of Avatar: The Last Airbender? Why? Don't mess with whats good! The cartoon series is great! And now I'm gonna have to go see it to see how terrible it will be...although I'm intrigued at Dev Patel playing Zuko.

Four pence a pound!

Hello! Once again, work has got their beastly claws in me and I'm working, so have been doing thangs on my days off, which is not as much if I had all week off, but you know,....MONEY. So yes! I have put a few of my flashy new CVs together, and I have some pretty bad photos of them, so here we go!

Here are the front covers after I sliced and diced them (as you see by the classy cutting board there...oh yeah), my hand hurt afterwards. Thanks to my wonderful brother, I got 30 printed, and I decided to cut them all in one sitting, which wasn't perhaps clever for my fingers, but hey, I had Lord of the Rings on in the background. (Isn't it odd how much that film has dated? It was only out a few years ago!...But I think I love it more for its slight cheesiness now!)

And here is my sister modelling it in all its glory. Yes, thats my foot and pyjamas back there. Its half night in merry England now, we sensible ones are preparing for beddy byes!

And here it is open! Wow! I sort of based it off the idea of opening a map, as I thought it was an optimum use of space really, it starts off small and ends up big-ish. So yes. Thats my CV.
I've also printed off business cards in the same stylio, which can be seen in my flickr photo slide show type thing on the side thar.

I've also been keeping up my watercolouring sort of, and made a few hand made thank you notes to my bro and the guys at the Print Room who were oh so amazing and swell in printing my new children off!

So yes. That is what I have been up to in between christmas pricing, dressing up as a dutch girl and buying chocolate. Oh yes! And I also went to the 'On the Waterfront' event outside the up and coming Liverpool Museum on Friday! Photos of that can also be seen in that wicked slideshow thang! It was interesting...I liked the whole cinema outside thing; unfortunately I was a philistine who didn't understand and therefore like the film that was shown...plus it was FREEZING. I really should of wrapped up warmer for it! I think I would go to something like that again though. It was nice to see people come together over film and such. (Plus we found out you can buy CARTONS OF BOOZE. What will the wonderful scientists of the world think of next?)....(Yes, scientists make alcohol. Everybody knows that.)

Anyhoo. I will go back to my Dracula book, as it really is rather GOOD; its true that the old classics are the best. I've decided that Renfield And Dr Seward and Van Helsing and Mina Harker and Jonathon Harker...and pretty much ANY OTHER CHARACTER is better in the book than in the filmio...you know, the one with Keanu Reeves in...although reading the book has made me want to watch it again, just to see if I'd appreciate it more. (The first and last time I watched it...I found it preeeety tedious). And yes, for some reason I want to see a newer version of the film, but with Johnny Depp as Dracula...I mean...I just think it'd be cool...but maybe he shouldn't do it till hes a bit older...as hes a bit too much in my face at the moment (for me personally...he just seems to be everywhere....)
ANYWAY, here is the coolest line out of the film:

Yay! What a line!

Thursday, September 24

Ooh Cheeky cheeky cheeky!

Have felt high and low all day I do have to say! Heh. Rhymes.

Have just watched this on YouTube and felt compelled to post the link cause its such a good short film, makes ya think about things in ya noggin' anyhows.

Its rather long. But its totally worth it. You don't even feel it pass by. Such a simple idea and it creates some of the most interesting film! Why can't they show this one short film instead of 10 billion weeks of Big Brother? Because the nation likes watching a bunch of airheads make fools of themselves, thats why! Ho ho!

Recently I've been given a lot of hours in my garden centre, which has kept me busy, pricing christmas stock and the like. Thursday and Friday is now my weekend, and now I look forward to the prospect of dressing up as a sweet little dutch girl for work on the tills on Saturday and Sunday (for it is our "Dutch Bulb Festival" Ooooh & Aaaah). On one side of things, I find the thought of it degrading and feel like kicking up a fuss and saying stuff like "I'm not paid to do this" and such, but then the other part of me just think it'll be funny and amusing all day. Well, we'll see if we fit in the costume.
My brother really helped me in printing off my flashy new CVs last week, so all I need to do now is send them to people and hope for some feedback at least! I'm really chuffed with how they came out, I shall post some pictures of them on here soon.

I went to the library last week also (after finally finishing my terrible book), and got out Bram Stoker's Dracula, and I'm rather enjoying it, even though it makes my neck feel funny.

I'm tired. And I may go to sleep.

Tuesday, September 15

Me Me Me!

Why is Ugly Betty so cool? Its just great. I want her apartment...even though I've just seen the episode were she moves out of it...but its suave. And I was so glad when Jesse turned out to be a big old selfish gimboid! Huzzah! Jesse is so not Betty's type...obviously.
Aand I watched a couple of the new episodes of Futurama and I have to say I was quite impressed! I think they were funnier than previous series! I'm really starting to like Leela and Fry a whole lot more I gotta say...plus I'm still amazed that the guy who did the voice of Doug Funnie in Nickelodeon TV Show 'Doug', does the voice of Fry. WOW.
Um, thats all the TV I watched today. After I came home from work.

And I'll leave with a fact and a video, cause videos are cooool:

Did you know? That blue tits can live up to a maximum of 21 YEARS?!? And thats what you find out when you're pricing bird food for the major part of the day....

(Because its freakin' hysterical)

Wednesday, September 9

"Oh Me Oh My"

And thats pretty much what I've been working on today. Cor crikey its taken a whileo to come up with a design that I'm happy with, so yay! Lets hope I don't change my mind for some reason! So yes, just a few other minor tidbits to do, and THEN...I can print it! Huzzah!

Have I done anything else today? WELL,...

not much.

BUT, I have primed little pieces of skirting board in our front room, preparing for the decorating session that will occur there at some point in the future! AND I hoovered. I was about to type 'hover', which to be fair, would of been waaaay more cooler than the cleaning one. Perhaps one day I will hover, maybe I should take up meditating? It would be just like in The Sims...

Yeeeaaaaah.

And then after I hovered I read some more of my god awful book that is starting to get so not awful. Which is really annoying cause then if I get into it, that means I'll have to buy the second book and then the horror will continue...cause its sort of an interesting story/plot...if it was just written better as I just find myself thinking about what I'll have for tea as my eyes skim over the text (I had chips, peas and a peppered quorn steak if imaginary people are interested...quorn is kick ass!). Yeah. Bad book.

Derren Brown on tonight! Yay! :3
So want to get stuff done before that comes on, yaaaaaay!

Recent Work

Just a few things that I've been working on, to show that I haven't been a complete lazy cow the past few months and eating at Wagamama and any opportunity (man, I love that place)

This was something that I designed for a company called NYAS. The game board was already drawn out on cloth, but it needed to be put into Illustrator so it could be printed off professionally and such; so I did that.

And this is a picture I drew for my friend Emily, who has gone off travelling to New Zealand for 2 months! (She so brave!) So I thought I'd paint her this, but considering all I really know about New Zealand is that Lord of the Rings was shot there, well, yeah, I had fun drawing hobbits and elves! Painted with watercolours! Took about 3-4 days from concept to finished piece.

And this isn't really recent as such, but anyhoos. I drew this because I got really angry when I was in my pubbington one day, and I was at the jukebox choosing some amazing riffs; but there was this gang of young persons, all in their cool get up and such; totally judging me and guessing what I'd pick, and one of them loudly said "Coldplay, definitely Coldplay!"
And this angered me.
Not because I dislike Coldplay. I don't mind their songs. They're nice. 'Yellow' obviously being a great song. 'Viva la Vida' not being such a great song. ANYWAY, the point is, I dislike being judged by physical appearance what sort of music I am into. I am into much music. I love all sorts. So as punishment, me and my friend Anthony chose 'Phantom of the Opera' (which is a killer song to sing when you're drinking by the way) and then left the establishment in PURE DISGUST at young people today (well, okay, I left in disgust, Anthony left mildly amused...)
But yes, heres my crappy picture I did. I wouldn't mind doing it a bit better, and also drawing a series of them involving different people and different bands. So yar. Maybe one day that idea will be a reality.
So there ya go.

Tuesday, July 7

Flakey Nails

So, hokay, I'm waiting for a call from a company called Daedalic Entertainment for a PHONE INTERVIEW this afternoon.

I'm scared.

Its for an internship, they make point and click adventure games (like the Monkey Islands and Broken Sword - man I want Broken Sword for my DS!), which is coolio, cause they use more traditional means of animating things, which I'm scared is going to become even more of a rarity in years to come because of this bloody 3D business - although I went to go see Ice Age 3 t'other day, and I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it; but this may be because Simon Pegg voiced one of the characters in it, and that just makes my fan-girly heart sing!
Anyway, the point of this post is to basically say I'm freakin' terrified. We shall see how it goes. I've never done a phone interview before so at least it will be interesting (and potentially very embarassing, oh well).

I've purchased a graphics tablet for myself also, as I've been relying upon my sisters for far too long. I tell ya, those graphics tablets are no cheap thing. Woo mama. (Which is why I had to just STOP myself from buying Professor Layton yesterday...I think I just like going into these shops to test out my endurance. I honestly stood there, with the game in my hand for about a minute, mulling it over. But one day I shall own that game. One day.)

I'm going to London this Thursday to visit my friend Sarah, and to hopefully see the amazing and stupendous Adam Buxton. Oooh. How exciting. And scary! I've never been to Lon-DON before. Ooooh.

So basically this is a week of trying new things, it would seem...

Friday, July 3

He flies through the air with greatest of ease!

WoooooooooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooo!
...
Woo!

Yeah. I basically did that exciting little entrance cause nothing much else exciting has happened since last I came on here...
Lets see, what have I done??

>Gone the Job Centre - and it was awful, just AWFUL I tells ya,...ok, it wasn't that bad, I like using the printy machine things cause it makes me feel like I've actually done some work when really all I've done is poke a screen for 10 minutes but oh well...
>APPLIED for some jobs - which at the moment I'm on a high over, cause like 'wOAH, I'm actually doing something!', but this may wear off quickly....
>Got pooed on by a bird....thats putting it lightly, it was more like a SKY ATTACK OF FREAKIN' GIGANTIC AND SLOPPY AND 'OHMYGOD ITS SALTY' proportions......IT WENT IN MY EYE!.....MY EYE! Oh the agony! It wasn't cool.

And seriously...they're the only sort of practical, active things I've done....Oh yeah, and I've been clearing out the loft, which is like a sauna in this weather, but now nearly everything is boxed...which is good...But now the only bin bags left to convert are ones in the far corners of the loft were I'm convinced all the scary insects are lying in wait for me...so I'm saving them for another day.

And zat is zat.
(Psst, I'm also considering buying some web space to make my own website on...but yeah, we shall see!)

And I almost forgot, an amazing video to round the post off with!

Monday, June 15

Wowzer Bowser

Like ohmagosh!

(Yes, I have been looking for a job, but before getting into THAT...) Dude, I bought Final Fantasy XII t'other day...and I have to say....its getting....kind of good! Wow! I was so not expecting that! I generally thought it was gonna be poo, but dude! I've been playing it for over 7 hours, and it wasn't all bad! Yay! Apart from Vaan being far too similar to Tidus (and the horror of me realising I preferred Tidus to Vaan, I mean, what the hell? Has the world gone topsy turvy?) And THEN once you get over the whole 'What? I have to BUY magic and techniques and weapons and armour AND THEN I have to bloody unlock them through the license board or what not?' thang, then its all hunky dorey. Woo! And yes, I know this is like years afterwards, but I tend to get into games once the hype of them has calmed down...I'm not really sure why...
(I also bought Sly Raccoon, but its just embarrassing how difficult I'm finding the stupid game and how a 5 year old could probably beat me on it...I'm no longer the gamer I used to be...perhaps the Wii has made me soft?)

PIIIIRRRRAAAAAATTTTTTEEEEE FFFIIIIIISSSSSSHHHHHH!!!

But yes! Have entered 4 competitions at the momento. And found a new one last week called ze Disposable Film Festival which I may have a crack at for laffs, cause I quite like doing stop motion but I never seem to do it. I'm thinking of adapting something from some diary pages...perhaps...
But yeah, I spent last week looking at graduate websites and the whole thing was just depressing and...yeah, pretty much depressing. So I may just focus on getting ANY job at the moment, but also work on little personal projects inbetween. I dunno. We shall see! Yes precious yes.

Found an interesting website today: Skill-Set. Its all about the animation industry and the like; but I do feel aren't these things my university should of king of taught me? Sure, they say we're a "graphic arts" course, but I was told that animation was covered underneath that heading, but to be honest I've felt over looked throughout the course (in terms of being taught about the industry and such...) Oh well.

Anyway, likeohmagod (again), our family has invested in a Wii Fit...and its okay....
(Yup, thats pretty much it. Although I do have to say I feel kinda pervy just doing the hula hoop on my own, without a hoop....yeah, I kinda feel like in Fable II when you can do the "Vulgar Thrust" command. Yeah.)

OOOHHH!!! AND I saw War of the Worlds last night! Woo! It was C O O L.
The big hologram head was so much cooler than on the DVD version, they had done stuff to it so it moved alot more and didn't look so weird! And the Artillery Man was great! The Echo Arena I've gotta say is pretty darn impressive too. And yes. It was good. So yeah.

And a video to round the evening (or in my case, very early morning) off with...

And a link to the website just cause the intro amuses me so much.....BUENO THE BEAR

Bad Chicken campaign

Heeeey. Here are some pics I drew yesterday cause I'm a weirdo that wanted to celebrate my boyfriend's food poisoning. So here ya go:

Sexy.
Um, yeah, I made like a whole sticker set of them, so now we can hopefully sticker them in not so obvious places around Liverpool. Theres one in Korova and at Paradise Street Station at the moment! So the imaginary people in my mind who read this blog should totally go on the hunt and find them! And then be proud. Woo!

But now I REALLY want a badge maker set, cause how cool would it be to wear as badges? But they seemed to have disappeared off the face of the earth. I think they only bring them out around crimbo because marketing people are clever.

And heres the original sketches:

But yes. Thats what I've been doing with my time! Well I've been trying to spruce up my CV, which reminds me I need to work on the BORING CV, which I'll give to regular office job people, for when I'll inevitabley be forced to apply for such jobs...well not FORCED...but hey man, ya gotta make money man. And that means applying for ANY job, even if it ain't animation.
Woo! Anyhow.

I finally sent off my film to Fantoche type thing yesterday (with a helping hand from my mother), but I'm not sure if it'll get there on time. Being far away in Switzerland. But we can hope. And then if I get through I can be all WHHHHEEEEEE SWITZEEEERRRLAAAAAAND and such. Which would be nice. But we shall see! I should really get on with these other competitions I've heard of.
But I decided to tidy my room. Which I'm now bored of, but I hate spreading it out over several days. Boooooooooo. Oh well. I'll go make fajitas and perhaps I'll have more energy for super cleaning.

And finally.... LOOK AT MY KNEE. LIKE OHMYGOD I HURT MYSELF LIKE A LITTLE KID!!!

Now lets all listen to Adam & Joe.

Still on Switzerland

Wow. I'm surprised I've been getting my bum into gear over this Fantoche competition. But yes. Spent last night making a little DVD menu (which didn't take half as long as I thought; and by the way, why is iDVD so dang confusing? Its so irritating to use!), and I'm quite proud of my little looped menu (except for the big old APPLE LOGO in the corner, just breathing all over my work, dagnab).
Anyhoo, all I gotta do now is,
- Put together DVD case
- Get a nice envelope
- Put objects in envelope
- And post it
Huzzah! And it'll be super fun happy times for all.

And then I shall be looking into the other competitions, and trying to think of some ideas for making my CV look pretty and such. I would rather send prospective employers a photo of my face with the words 'PLEASE HIRE ME' scrawled across my face in red crayon. It would be different. But possibly not in a good way.
Anyway, I do apologize if I'm repeating myself, but here is a slightly different version of Love by Numbers, as I've changed the music to some good old royalty free music so I don't get sued and given credits to the Guardian article from which I based the entire animation. You can find the article HERE HERE HERE (Also, so I don't get sued)

And was I going to say anything else? Um, yes. The Graphic Arts website is now opppppeeeeeeen, so you can go look at pure amazingness ---------->CROWD<----------
Wheee!

Now I be off to conquer more land and marry more princesses
(Cause I'm a stud)

Competitions

I got informed of an animation competition todaaay. But it has to be delivered to Switzerland by next Sunday. Woahzer.
Plus, I was reading the regulations and stuff, and it didn't say "nuffin' about asking for permission for music and such...so I don't think it matters about asking Mr Michael Andrews g=for his permission for this particular competition. But I'm not sure whether I should just play it safe and find some royalty free music to put on instead....just in case I get into trouble.

PLUS. It also says that you need to write 'For cultural purposes only. No commercial value' on something. But I don't know whether it meant physically ON the DVD, or on the packaging...or on the envelope or do I need to proclaim it in the actual animation>??? I don't think I need to do that one....perhaps it just means on the packaging and DVD? We think so. Which only requires some minor tweaking. Yeah.

PLUUUUUS PLUS its asking about projection formats and I have NO CLUE as to what that even means....I just put Digital Beta PAL or something...whatever that means. Oh the confusion. I CAN'T STAND THE CONFUSION IN MY MIIIIIIIND!

But on a lighter/exciting/ohmagodI'mkindanervous note, our degree show is tomorrow baby! Wow! It seems hard to believe-o.
I took some pics of people preparing and such...

Yeah. I would of rotated some of them. But that would have required effort plus it gives the neck good exercise! Its kinda cool to just go in and sort of soak up the sort of atmosphere. Yeah. So yes. Tomorrow. Woo. We shall see what happens.
