Avatar

Say whaaaaaat? They're making a live action movie of Avatar: The Last Airbender? Why? Don't mess with whats good! The cartoon series is great! And now I'm gonna have to go see it to see how terrible it will be...although I'm intrigued at Dev Patel playing Zuko.

Four pence a pound!

Hello! Once again, work has got their beastly claws in me and I'm working, so have been doing thangs on my days off, which is not as much if I had all week off, but you know,....MONEY. So yes! I have put a few of my flashy new CVs together, and I have some pretty bad photos of them, so here we go!

Here are the front covers after I sliced and diced them (as you see by the classy cutting board there...oh yeah), my hand hurt afterwards. Thanks to my wonderful brother, I got 30 printed, and I decided to cut them all in one sitting, which wasn't perhaps clever for my fingers, but hey, I had Lord of the Rings on in the background. (Isn't it odd how much that film has dated? It was only out a few years ago!...But I think I love it more for its slight cheesiness now!)

And here is my sister modelling it in all its glory. Yes, thats my foot and pyjamas back there. Its half night in merry England now, we sensible ones are preparing for beddy byes!

And here it is open! Wow! I sort of based it off the idea of opening a map, as I thought it was an optimum use of space really, it starts off small and ends up big-ish. So yes. Thats my CV.
I've also printed off business cards in the same stylio, which can be seen in my flickr photo slide show type thing on the side thar.

I've also been keeping up my watercolouring sort of, and made a few hand made thank you notes to my bro and the guys at the Print Room who were oh so amazing and swell in printing my new children off!

So yes. That is what I have been up to in between christmas pricing, dressing up as a dutch girl and buying chocolate. Oh yes! And I also went to the 'On the Waterfront' event outside the up and coming Liverpool Museum on Friday! Photos of that can also be seen in that wicked slideshow thang! It was interesting...I liked the whole cinema outside thing; unfortunately I was a philistine who didn't understand and therefore like the film that was shown...plus it was FREEZING. I really should of wrapped up warmer for it! I think I would go to something like that again though. It was nice to see people come together over film and such. (Plus we found out you can buy CARTONS OF BOOZE. What will the wonderful scientists of the world think of next?)....(Yes, scientists make alcohol. Everybody knows that.)

Anyhoo. I will go back to my Dracula book, as it really is rather GOOD; its true that the old classics are the best. I've decided that Renfield And Dr Seward and Van Helsing and Mina Harker and Jonathon Harker...and pretty much ANY OTHER CHARACTER is better in the book than in the filmio...you know, the one with Keanu Reeves in...although reading the book has made me want to watch it again, just to see if I'd appreciate it more. (The first and last time I watched it...I found it preeeety tedious). And yes, for some reason I want to see a newer version of the film, but with Johnny Depp as Dracula...I mean...I just think it'd be cool...but maybe he shouldn't do it till hes a bit older...as hes a bit too much in my face at the moment (for me personally...he just seems to be everywhere....)
ANYWAY, here is the coolest line out of the film:

Yay! What a line!

Ooh Cheeky cheeky cheeky!

Have felt high and low all day I do have to say! Heh. Rhymes.

Have just watched this on YouTube and felt compelled to post the link cause its such a good short film, makes ya think about things in ya noggin' anyhows.

Its rather long. But its totally worth it. You don't even feel it pass by. Such a simple idea and it creates some of the most interesting film! Why can't they show this one short film instead of 10 billion weeks of Big Brother? Because the nation likes watching a bunch of airheads make fools of themselves, thats why! Ho ho!

Recently I've been given a lot of hours in my garden centre, which has kept me busy, pricing christmas stock and the like. Thursday and Friday is now my weekend, and now I look forward to the prospect of dressing up as a sweet little dutch girl for work on the tills on Saturday and Sunday (for it is our "Dutch Bulb Festival" Ooooh & Aaaah). On one side of things, I find the thought of it degrading and feel like kicking up a fuss and saying stuff like "I'm not paid to do this" and such, but then the other part of me just think it'll be funny and amusing all day. Well, we'll see if we fit in the costume.
My brother really helped me in printing off my flashy new CVs last week, so all I need to do now is send them to people and hope for some feedback at least! I'm really chuffed with how they came out, I shall post some pictures of them on here soon.

I went to the library last week also (after finally finishing my terrible book), and got out Bram Stoker's Dracula, and I'm rather enjoying it, even though it makes my neck feel funny.

I'm tired. And I may go to sleep.

Me Me Me!

Why is Ugly Betty so cool? Its just great. I want her apartment...even though I've just seen the episode were she moves out of it...but its suave. And I was so glad when Jesse turned out to be a big old selfish gimboid! Huzzah! Jesse is so not Betty's type...obviously.
Aand I watched a couple of the new episodes of Futurama and I have to say I was quite impressed! I think they were funnier than previous series! I'm really starting to like Leela and Fry a whole lot more I gotta say...plus I'm still amazed that the guy who did the voice of Doug Funnie in Nickelodeon TV Show 'Doug', does the voice of Fry. WOW.
Um, thats all the TV I watched today. After I came home from work.

And I'll leave with a fact and a video, cause videos are cooool:

Did you know? That blue tits can live up to a maximum of 21 YEARS?!? And thats what you find out when you're pricing bird food for the major part of the day....

(Because its freakin' hysterical)

"Oh Me Oh My"

And thats pretty much what I've been working on today. Cor crikey its taken a whileo to come up with a design that I'm happy with, so yay! Lets hope I don't change my mind for some reason! So yes, just a few other minor tidbits to do, and THEN...I can print it! Huzzah!

Have I done anything else today? WELL,...

not much.

BUT, I have primed little pieces of skirting board in our front room, preparing for the decorating session that will occur there at some point in the future! AND I hoovered. I was about to type 'hover', which to be fair, would of been waaaay more cooler than the cleaning one. Perhaps one day I will hover, maybe I should take up meditating? It would be just like in The Sims...

Yeeeaaaaah.

And then after I hovered I read some more of my god awful book that is starting to get so not awful. Which is really annoying cause then if I get into it, that means I'll have to buy the second book and then the horror will continue...cause its sort of an interesting story/plot...if it was just written better as I just find myself thinking about what I'll have for tea as my eyes skim over the text (I had chips, peas and a peppered quorn steak if imaginary people are interested...quorn is kick ass!). Yeah. Bad book.

Derren Brown on tonight! Yay! :3
So want to get stuff done before that comes on, yaaaaaay!

Recent Work

Just a few things that I've been working on, to show that I haven't been a complete lazy cow the past few months and eating at Wagamama and any opportunity (man, I love that place)

This was something that I designed for a company called NYAS. The game board was already drawn out on cloth, but it needed to be put into Illustrator so it could be printed off professionally and such; so I did that.

And this is a picture I drew for my friend Emily, who has gone off travelling to New Zealand for 2 months! (She so brave!) So I thought I'd paint her this, but considering all I really know about New Zealand is that Lord of the Rings was shot there, well, yeah, I had fun drawing hobbits and elves! Painted with watercolours! Took about 3-4 days from concept to finished piece.

And this isn't really recent as such, but anyhoos. I drew this because I got really angry when I was in my pubbington one day, and I was at the jukebox choosing some amazing riffs; but there was this gang of young persons, all in their cool get up and such; totally judging me and guessing what I'd pick, and one of them loudly said "Coldplay, definitely Coldplay!"
And this angered me.
Not because I dislike Coldplay. I don't mind their songs. They're nice. 'Yellow' obviously being a great song. 'Viva la Vida' not being such a great song. ANYWAY, the point is, I dislike being judged by physical appearance what sort of music I am into. I am into much music. I love all sorts. So as punishment, me and my friend Anthony chose 'Phantom of the Opera' (which is a killer song to sing when you're drinking by the way) and then left the establishment in PURE DISGUST at young people today (well, okay, I left in disgust, Anthony left mildly amused...)
But yes, heres my crappy picture I did. I wouldn't mind doing it a bit better, and also drawing a series of them involving different people and different bands. So yar. Maybe one day that idea will be a reality.
So there ya go.
